      Juan's Barcelona temptation

      There are rumours that Barcelona will persuade Roma star defender Juan to rescind his contract at the Stadio Olimpico and fly to Spain.

      The Brazilian international enjoyed an impressive maiden campaign in the Eternal City and is an important piece in Luciano Spalletti’s jigsaw.

      However, there are whispers that Barcelona, who are looking to replace the injured Gabriel Milito, are willing to offer Juan double his current wage if he agrees to switch to the Nou Camp.

      Juan is tied to the Giallorossi until 2011, but he could buy himself out of his contract for a fee of around £7.5m.

      Roma would be unable to stand in the former Bayer Leverkusen man’s way if he chose to ply his trade in La Liga and he would be a costly loss.

      Should the 29-year-old head for the exit, unsettled stopper Matteo Ferrari, who looks almost certain to leave the club, may be asked to reconsider.

    • Secondo la Gazzetta dello Sport, la Roma potrebbe trovarsi in guai seri per quanto riguarda la difesa. Il centrale brasiliano infatti, è sempre più corteggiato dal Barcellona. Il contratto di Juan ha una clausola che gli permetterebbe di svincolarsi a poco più di 10 milioni di Euro. Cifra piuttosto appetibile per il ricco club spagnolo.

    • ich weiß nicht,
      juan hat zwar ne klasse saison gespielt, aber ist mir zu verletzungsanfällig und wer weiß ob er das nochmal so toll macht.
      ich meine kuffour war auch klasse die erste zeit bei uns und wenn das angebot stimmt kann man schon überlegen...

      problem wird nur sein ersatz zu finden, weil bis wir mit unseren transferbemühungen ausm arsch kommen sind die guten schon alle weg, zaccardo, barzagli...

    • Das Hauptproblem an der Sache ist ja mal, dass sich der gute Juan für rund 10 Mio. € selbst freikaufen könnte. Und Barca bietet ihm wohl mindestens das doppelte an Gehalt wie die Roma. Und wie bitte willst du die Lücke schliessen, sollte er tatsächlich gehen. Mit Ferarri etwa?

    • Schade allemal, wenn er sich für einen Wechsel entscheiden sollte. Andererseits ist ein solches Angebot eine große Ehre für einen Fussballer und für einen 29-Jährigen sowieso die letzte Chance noch für einen ganz großen Club zu spielen.

      Sollte allerdings ein solcher Wechsel zu Stande kommen, dann sollten wir das ganz ganz schnell über die Bühne bringen, um noch einen halbwegs adäquaten Ersatz zu finden.

      gab ja vor 1,2 jahren schonmal wechselgerüchte, würde sich dann halbwegs anbieten.

      aber das is reine spekulation.

    • laaangweilige debatt ehier, man weiss ja nur das barca interesse hatte an 3-4 verteidigern, ich kann mir kaum vorstellen das sie sich jez so sehr an juangebissen haben, ob er geht is seine sahcee aber wäre i.wie nuttig, nach einam jahr "liebe" zu schwören wieder die koffer zu packenb, allerdings bei barca angebot würd ich auch 2 ma überlegen ne...

      Il Liverpool vuole Juan. La notizia è certa. E, in più si può dire, che la squadra inglese ha intenzioni molto serie. Del resto basti ricordare come anche quest'anno lo stagionato finlandese Hyppia di fatto è stato uno dei due difensori centrali titolari. Insomma, lì in mezzo per tornare a vincere serve qualcosa di meglio. Appunto, Juan. Che, magari, in questa prima stagione alla Roma, non tutti ne hanno potuto apprezzare le indubbie qualità a causa di una serie di infortuni che hanno limitato notevolmente il giocatore anche quando è andato in campo. L'offerta, al giocatore, è di quelle che possono far vacillare: il Liverpool ha detto piuttosto chiaramente di essere disposto a garantire un ingaggio da quattro milioni e mezzo di euro netti che, rispetto a quello firmato da Juan l'anno scorso con la Roma, vuole dire circa due milioni e mezzo in più ogni dodici mesi. La risposta è stata, dovete parlare con la Roma. La controreplica è stata che non ce ne era bisogno visto che il Liverpool era a conoscenza di una clausola rescissoria nel contratto del brasiliano. Una clausola, peraltro, che ieri sia la società giallorossa che il procuratore del giocatore (Alessandro Lucci) hanno negato, anche se noi non ce la sentiamo di scommettere neppure un euro sull'inesistenza di questa clausola (c'è, per esempio, in quasi tutti i contratti nuovi o di prolungamento firmati negli ultimi diciotto mesi).
