Roma complete Wilhelmsson swoop

Roma have completed the signing of Nantes star Christian Wilhelmsson.
It was already in the air today, but this evening the Giallorossi released an official announcement confirming 27-year-old Wilhelmsson’s loan.
“A.S. Roma have the option to buy out the player for 2007-08 with a deadline of May 1, 2007.
“The price has been set at £2m, to be paid over two instalments before July 1, 2007 and January 3, 2008.”
The statement also pointed out that Wilhelmsson, who underwent a medical at the Trigoria training ground today, has signed a contract worth £180,000 until the end of the term.
If he makes the move permanent, the midfielder will receive wages of £1.2m for each year of a four-season deal.
